Back-threading and future-threading are accepted as well!
26 December, in the morning [action]
He's thinking the same as he knocks on the door this morning.] Czeslaw? Are you awake?
26 December, in the morning [action]
The Malnosso got to him. They made him mortal again, like they had did to Firo. They made him who he really is, a child.
They made him shout for Fermet like the man was his savior, his guardian.
And that's what he hates the most. He loathes his younger self, for being so naive and stupid back then, trusting Fermet although even now he knows that he would've never had known better back then. And yet at the same time he's jealous of how he was back then--how he was a few days ago.
Because he was happy. Sure he was scared and shy, but he wasn't paranoid. The thought of being devoured by another immortal or being ripped apart by that monster of a man didn't exist in his mind. All he thought of was eating the snow and catching a carp for Christmas. He was... more or less relaxed save for the being shy part. But it only makes him even more upset and annoyed at the Malnosso for reminding him of what his life has turned into since then.
His thoughts are interrupted when he hears Maiza knock and speak from outside the door and he sits up in bed and leans back against his headboard.]
I'm awake, Maiza. [He doesn't sound sleepy and his words aren't spoken in a mumble like how his younger self would've done. Instead he sounds awake and annoyed. Not at Maiza of course, at the Malnosso.]

... Good morning. Do you mind if I come in?
[He's relieved that Czeslaw is back to the way he was. That much he knows is true. He would miss the bright smiles and being allowed to pick him up, but Czeslaw is Czeslaw. He missed the snarky friend he could treat as an equal this month, too. He missed the shared experience he had with Czes, no matter how terrible and bitter it was. (Was that selfish of him?)]
no subject
He's quiet for a moment, running a hand through his hair frustratedly before speaking up again]
You can come in.
no subject
[And he opens the door, stepping inside. He can confirm with just a glance that this Czes is the Czes he met in New York.]
Breakfast is ready if you want some. How're you feeling?
no subject
What's for breakfast?
no subject
no subject
Dammit Malnosso they did that on purpose]
no subject
[He closes Czes' door behind him and follows, watching the boy quietly.]

Hey Czeslaw.
no subject
Yes?
no subject
It's good to have you back.
no subject
I wonder. [Because he isn't even happy to be back--to have all of his memories haunting him and paranoia controlling his every move. And he can remember Maiza and how happy he was to have such an innocent and smiling Czes around. Who wouldn't be happy to have that Czes around?
He would.]
no subject
... Czeslaw.

He stares ahead for a moment longer before finally moving to walk towards the kitchen again. There's no apology or anything more said from him on that subject, instead he just goes back to the original topic.] Let's just go eat.
no subject
He sighs, and nods at Czeslaw's retreating back for a moment before following again.] All right.

Need a hand?
4 June [action]
But he can't remember because the moment he reaches out to tap the kid's shoulder and they connect, there's a loud ZAP and a spark flies between them! But totally unromantically it's a literal spark. He wasn't expecting the static (it was more like a mini-lightning) and he snaps his hand back in surprise! And then he stares when he realizes that he made Czes' hair stand on end.
Whups.]
4 June [action]
M-Maiza, what was that for?! [He actually seems pretty mad about it though that's Twila seeping through]
no subject
Sorry, Czeslaw, I was just tryin' to talk to you. It looks like this electricity thing does more than cause a few lightning bolts. You all right?
no subject
You don't have to touch me in order to talk to me. [Gosh Maiza keep your hands to yourself if you're gonna go around shocking people!! He let's go of his shoulder and sighs though, calming down as twila recedes a little] I'm fine, you should know I am. [Immortality and all, he means] So what did you want? [Still has not noticed his hair]
no subject
I was going to ask if you 'd help me move that, I think. You were lost in thought I didn't know if you'd hear.
no subject
Do you still want my help?
no subject
[He walks around to the other side of the chair, grabbing the opposite armrest. They just gotta move it to the other side of the room, but he glances again at Czes' hair. Man... he should tell him.]
28 May [Action]
A visit to the apartment turns up empty. Firo resorts to strolling through the town with his eyes peeled. This method is surprisingly effective when he spots Czeslaw sitting right in the plaza; waving, he dashes over to him.]
Hey!
[For some odd reason, he's less annoyed with Czes now that he sees kid. He chalks it up to relief, not realizing just how much the spirits are messing with him.]
28 May [Action]
Which shouldn't have bothered him--not with Maiza at least. He knew the man would do him no harm, he wanted to trust him, but his paranoia wouldn't have that. So he left and found himself here staring out into the crowd, not even people watching. Just staring.
When Firo approaches him, he simply lifts his head and just... stares at him. He doesn't utter a word.]
28 May [Action]
[It's silly to think Czes didn't hear his earlier greeting considering how loudly he was shouting, but he repeats it anyway as he stops a few feet in front of Czes. He rests his hands on his knees as he bends down to be closer to Czes's eye level.
The quietness strikes him as odd, even if Czes isn't the most chatty kid to begin with. But who is Firo to question him?
...Did he really just think that? The spirits' influence is a funny thing and Firo wonders if he's losing his mind; he'll question whomever he damn well pleases!]
What're you doin' here? I've been lookin' for you.
28 May [Action]
Don't come any closer now Firo... You're immortal too, just like Maiza and the rest of them.]
28 May [Action]
C'mon, what's wrong? You sleepin' with your eyes open, or are you just givin' me the silent treatment?
28 May [Action]
Don't try that again Firo or he might run.]
28 May [Action]
What the-!
[He's about to ask what the hell is wrong with Czes, but then it hits him that he actually looks scared, not just annoyed.]
...Are you okay?
28 May [Action]
There's an obvious pause before Czes slowly shakes his head but doesn't say anything to follow up on that. There are two sides to his answer but both support the fact that he isn't okay.
On one side, with Hyt's tampering, his paranoia is eating at him, digging up and making his deep fear of the other immortals surface. With an immortal in front of him, he's scared, the thought of being possibly devoured running through his mind. On the other side, Hyt is tampering with him. While it might be true that he can act like this and even worse in reality, he doesn't want this fear surfaced and shown to others. Especially not Firo. He may not be able to get the words out but he has to play this off as something that totally isn't him]
28 May [Action]
Hiding his concern takes effort, and he doesn't do the best job of it when he opens his mouth to speak again.]
What is it? Are you hurt?
28 May [Action]
And because his lips refuse to move still, he spreads one of his large, white wings a little and points to it. He's trying to explain it's whatever's going on but it's hard.]
28 May [Action]
[He spreads out his own orange wings in an imitation of Czes's gesture. He doubts that simple fear of something new would be enough to affect Czes so much, but with so little information he feels he's left with only that assumption.]
I know it's weird, Czes, but I don't think it's gonna be anything too bad. You'll be okay.
[That's a lie. He thinks that this is build up to something worse.]
